New Beginnings

The next collection of poetry is well in the works. Here is a teaser of what is to come…

I questioned what others would say
Would think
Would they roll their eyes,
and think me more of a fool
than I called myself
When they realised
I still wrote of the star
Though I took my bow
I said my goodbyes
My thank you’s
Exit, pursued by hurt
Would they think me ridiculous
Would they think me depressive
I write of healing
Yet I pick at the wound
For the blood to ink my pen

Well
Sometimes
Stories need to be written over and over
And saying goodbye is just one part
I still have remnants
And these remnants still hurt
So that is why I must write
And that is how I will continue to heal
I once said
And this is doing

Who is anyone to tell me how to write
What to feel
I should feel what I feel
Without shame
Without wondering what others may whisper
Feel what I feel
And not feel what I think others think I should feel

Sometimes I feel it
Like little hammers on my heart
My eye lids
Remembering the time
I’ve spent not remembering you
Realising how further you seem
Or how far you really were
How faded even the hope of us is now

Every time
That she is there
In the fore of my eyes
Every time I feel
the ebb of hurt
And memories
with the tint of ideal
I will turn it into lines of poetry
I will put words as best I can
To the music
out of tune in my head
I’ll always have lines to write
But
This way
at least
the hurt is worthwhile
